Earned Intuition

Intuition is not the opposite of discipline. It is what discipline becomes after enough repetitions. Beginners need rules because they do not yet have taste. Experts can make exceptions because they have internalised the pattern behind the rule.

Marriage as Conversation
Nietzsche’s test for marriage is brutally simple: can you keep having good conversations with this person into old age?

Conversation is not decoration on top of a relationship. It is the medium through which conflict, boredom, ambition, grief, logistics, children, money, aging, and ordinary days get metabolised.

When a friend crosses your mind, treat that as a prompt to reach out.
Friendship often decays from logistical drift, not dramatic betrayal. A short message is a small proof that the relationship is still alive between scheduled catch-ups, birthdays, and emergencies.

Modern dads spend far more time on childcare than previous generations. The role has shifted from distant provider toward active daily participant: more present, more tired, and often more satisfied.
The trade is not simply loss. A life can become heavier because it contains more of what matters.

- Choose relationships by the quality of daily interaction, not only peak chemistry.
- Lower the bar for maintaining friendship; warmth matters more than performance.
